About School

Primary School in nám. Curieových 2, Prague 1 is a school under Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University. Starting from the first grade, pupils can choose programme of extended language study (English as a first foreign language and Spanish or German as a second foreign language later).

The school organizes trips to U.K. and Germany as an educational enrichment for students.

We help students with specific learning difficulties in special groups. To protect children from negative effects our school offers a variety of free time activities: ceramics workshop, theatre, choir, flute, floorball, ICT, ethics.

Pupils can show their attainments and abilities in different knowledge competitions (Olympics in Czech, Spanish, history, phisics, geography), sport tournaments (floorball, football, end-ball etc.) and also in plastic arts and cultural activities organized by our school (School – Creative Workshop, Court Festivities, Christmas Carp).

Since 1st of September 2004, Mgr. Libuše Vlková is the headteacher of our school.

School Programme ŠANce.

1. Foreign language teaching. English for young learners started in the first grade. German and Spanish as a second foreign language starting from the sixth grade.
2. Free time activities: we organize Games in English for primary level pupils beggining from the first grade. For older learners we have Club of friends of Russian language and English conversation lessons at the secondary level.
3. Children from second to fifth grade are grouped respectively to work with specialists on programmes to help their specific learning difficulties.

Since the year 2007/08 Gymnázium profesora Jana Patočky – www.gpjp.cz has its quarters in our school.
